Nika-Ruotong Zhu

Nika-Ruotong Zhu was born in Berlin in 2011. She received her first violin lessons at the age of four. She then received private lessons with Ms. Zoya Nevgodovska of the Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach Music High School Berlin, where she was accepted in 2021. Nika attended several master classes with, among others, Prof. O. Zolotareva, Prof. Latica Honda-Rosenberg and Ms. Zoya Nevgodovska. She also participates in the many activities of the Morawa Music High School and Academy in Poland. In 2020, Nika won the third prize in the violin competition of the Berlin International Music School and the second prize International Music Competition "Nouvelles Étoiles". In 2019 and 2022, Nika won first prize in the Berlin-North Regional Competition and Berlin State Competition in "Jugend musiziert". From 2020 to 2022, she earned first prize in each of the "Märkische Musiktage" competitions and was allowed to perform on stage with the Prussian Chamber Orchestra several times as a prize winner. She also won first prize in the Hedwig Prize International Violin Competition 2022 and second prize in the Young Ludwig Youth Music Competition 2022. In May 2023, she won the second prize in the 65th Kocian Violin Competition and the prize for the best interpretation of Jaroslav Kocian Spring Song. Numerous performances, including Young Classic Dialog Berlin, and active participation in the Bach Music High School String Orchestra enrich Nika's musical experience. Nika was able to have her violins, from ¼ to 7/8, and bows provided by conTakt-junior e.V. as a prize winner in the competition.
