Frédéric Sommer
Frédéric Sommer received his pianistic training in Paris
from Prof. Dominique Merlet. In Stuttgart he continued
his studies both in the piano and in the song class with
Prof. Konrad Richter up to the soloist examination.
Numerous solo evenings followed, as well as solo
appearances with various orchestras. (Piano concertos by
W.A. Mozart, Felix Mendelssohn, Franz Liszt, Edward
Grieg, César Franck, Paul Hindemith, Jean Françaix ...)
He also took over the piano part at the Stuttgart State
Opera for the productions “Die Gezeichneten” by Franz
Schreker, “Moses und Aron” by Arnold Schönberg,
Stravinsky's Petruschka and “Der Bürger als Edelmann”
by Richard Strauss under the direction of GMD Lothar
Zagrosek and Mark Albrecht.
Frédéric Sommer is also a much sought-after chamber
music partner and song accompanist and develops his
artistic skills in numerous festivals and master classes.
Recitals with the singer Matthias Klink and the singer
Natalie Karl are among the most beautiful musical
moments of his stage career.
The pianist Frédéric Sommer has lived in Berlin since
2012 and has been coaching the students of the Carl
Philip Emanuel Bach Gymnasium as a répétiteur at the
Hanns Eisler Musikhochschule since 2019
Since 2019 Frédéric Sommer has also been teaching at
the City-West Music School in the Charlottenburg-
Wilmersdorf district of Berlin.
